It has arrived. Nike MAG 2011 "McFly"

The Nike MAG mystery is now over and the Nike MAG "McFly" sneakers launched today in Los Angeles in a special event at the Universal Studios, hosted by Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker. The most eagerly awaited shoe in Nike history which captured hearts and minds of Back to the Future fans are finally here but they're here to help with the Michael J.Fox Foundation. 1,500 pairs of the Nike MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all the proceeds from the winning bidders going towards the Parkinson disease charity. The auction will last for 10 days and for each of the ten days, 150 pairs of the Nike MAG shoes will be made available through eBay's Fashion Vault. The auction begins on the 8th September on nikemag.ebay.com and will end on the 18th September.

As can be seen by the pictures, the shoes are near to identical to the ones from the film and the shoes even include the LED panel in the sole and electroluminescent logo in the strap. The 2011 Nike MAG has a miniature internal battery hidden in each shoe. The battery last up to 5 hours per charge and the plug port neatly tucks away under the cuff.

Only negative(if we can even say it has any maybe over exaggerated) is that the Automatic Lacing System which was patented back in 2009 and the original power laces from the film shoes didn't make it to this 2011 version. Hatfield simply commented, "It's not 2015 yet," alluding to a future refresh of the Mag. Does this mean that they are set to make one for 2015?
